Sharing an entity on Facebook problem.
Sharing an entity on Facebook (in my case, a link) no longer links through Socialize to the original entity in the Facebook post. Instead, it resolves to a link back to my app's page on Socialize. This occurs with both the iOS and Android SDKs.

OK, it seems to be working now. I must have caught you in the middle of an update.

My problem with Facebook sharing has returned, but only with one app, Primal Feed. The only difference with this app is I did have SmartAlert notifications enabled for the app, but now I've disabled them. Can you check at your end and make sure they are turned off? When I post a link on Facebook from either the Android or iOS version it redirects back to the app page on Socialize. Here's an example of an entity that I posted on Facebook: pageTitle: http://r.getsocialize.com/e/2051098 . Notice that it also prepends the text "pageTitle:", which it doesn't do for any other apps.

Okay here is the logic, we can discuss it if it doesn't seem right to you.
Link to Entity:
If the entity linked to does not have a working URL as it's key it will push the user to download the app. If it DOES have a valid URL for a key it will show the user the URL in the browser and in the header give the user download options.
Download Process:
If a user is directed to download from Facebook on their computer AND there is only 1 platform it pushed the user straight to the Apple download page. If the App has more than 1 platform it takes the user to our page so that the user can choose which platform to download from.
Make sense? -

The logic makes sense, but it's not applying that logic in my app Primal Feed. I've confirmed that my code includes a working URL as the key and the article title as the name. However, it skips to the second paragraph in your explanation above.

Hey Neil,
I checked our DB and the key for that entity is "theurl", not a valid URL.
LMK if I can help further. -

Oops. That fixed the problem in Android - I'd included the local variable in quotes. The problem is still there in the iOS version though, so maybe it's an iOS problem. When I post the link http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/RobbWo... it posts on Facebook as http://r.getsocialize.com/e/2095146 . can you check those in your DB also? Thanks.

That is a valid URL, but when I tried it it returned a feedburner 404; http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/robbwo...
http://cl.ly/1o392d3Z2L441z3S3z44
Which should/could be assessing the url as non valid when directing to it. That will result in a download app scenario as well. -

Looks like a combination of my programming errors and a website that's not responding. Thanks so much for your help Sean - I really appreciate it.
I have a follow-up question - if the URL included in an entity is redirected (some of the blog servers do that), will the Socialize server follow the redirect?
Thanks again. -

No worries, glad to help :)
Yes it should respect all working URLs. Let me know if you find a situation that proves otherwise though of course :) -

I tried to use http://bit.ly/zk92Hz as the entity key but still post http://r.getsocialize.com/e/2095146 on FB

That entity ID: 2095146 (http://cl.ly/0522343x3t051s2l0X2t)
Has this url/key:
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/robbwo...
It returns a 404:
http://cl.ly/1l2I2d3p1m1D2Z3f0D21
So the logic pushes the user to download the app, instead of showing a 404 page.
Also note: We added a search entities feature on the website so you can see the data: http://cl.ly/0m2n0U1q3W150d2U3d2F
:) LMK if you need more info -
